I think the problem of other non native speaker is they used the exact equivalent meaning of their own dialect into English translation. so that's why some of them are afraid and no confidence to talk to english native speaker.I am a non native english speaker also but i really dont used those words that you mentioned in your podcast.They might got those words from studying textbook.The best ways to understand real english is to watch americans tv sitcom.Thats what i did. i found that english language is very easy and i realize also american people dont used the perfect grammar in thier daily conversation.
